Don’t ask me why I’d want to die and wake up in a room locked high above the city floor, looking down from the bed after looking over my own technologically advanced, half mechanic, futuristic body, upgraded beyond human potential to live a better improved life, wondering what world I’m in now, seeing the lights, hearing the deep gutteral whirring of machinery, the buildings creaking under the stress of technology demands, an eerily empty feeling about such a busy city, like all life was sucked out of it and all that remains is robotic creatures taken over the world, having to fight to breathe with regular lungs in a thick cloud of smog creatures by the power plants struggling to fuel the cities demand for electricity, barely a soul left on earth who isn’t forced to breathe through iron lungs remain, you and few others left with skin and blood, the rest reduced to mere electronically components controlled by the corruption that is the government’s yearning for no cosmos to be seen through the high rise buildings and to be entirely floating in cyberspace in the next few years.

It is not unreasonable for a building to have a lifespan of 30 years or more. So today’s new buildings currently under construction will be important components of our built environment in City: 2120. Architectural design will undoubtedly change over the next 119 years, so expect our cities to be a mix of old and new, just as they are today. ~

I used to imagine a future like this but now I realize a. How annoying trying to sleep would be and b. This level of carbon emissions would lead to a catastrophic event long before a city ever managed to look this cool.
